Assiniboine Park Zoo

Wayfinding

This is a college project that creates unified wayfinding for the Winnipeg Assiniboine Park Zoo, including signs, icons, a map, and environmental graphics.

Wayfinding Design

Thin lines and simple graphic shapes are clean, unique, and easy to understand. Rounded corners and circular graphics achieve to the target market – families with kids, teenagers and young adults. Pressure-treated wood gives a natural look and fits the zoo environment. Black plastic icons and white acrylic letters are glossy, which contrasts with the matt wood so that signs can stand out.

Environmental Graphics

A tram stop designs for Assiniboine Park Zoo. The waved canopy creates dynamic and rhythm. The waiting seat in the form of swings brings fun to kids. The materials unified with the signs and architectural styles of the zoo.
